OUR ORIGINS
Alquimistas 2020 was born with the idea and inspiration of creating a new kind of Crafted Fine Liqueurs that would allow Costa Rica to exploit in a high value-added product the large diversity of tropical and exotic fruits, spices, and botanicals that the country counts with. At the same time, to leverage on the extraordinary quality of our sugar cane alcohol as one of our main pillars.
FIRST STEPS
It all started in a small but very well-equipped laboratory with months of research and product development experiments to develop the first recipes for our products back in 2019. It took many hours of trial and error to determine the best techniques to extract the essential oils, flavors, and aromas from all the different materials we worked with. It also took many hours blending the different distillations and macerations in different proportions until finding the best characteristics for each of our liqueurs and bitters. This complex process confirmed that it was viable to produce very high-quality liqueurs and bitters without using any kind of essences, flavor or color additives, or preservatives. 100% natural products with the quality to compete in similar conditions with any international brand.
AT PRESENT
Today we count with a product portfolio of 9 different products under the Verolís brand, 5 Liqueurs and 4 Bitters plus other alternatives in the development process. We are a small but formal company (SMB) that counts with a Concession Contract from Fanal (Fábrica Nacional de Licores). We also count with all the corresponding authorizations to operate from Hacienda Ministry and Municipality, the corresponding product registrations at the Health Ministry, and brand registration at the government intellectual property offices.
